Christmas

David, me, my parents and Matthew headed to Virginia Beach on Christmas day. That evening we went to the boardwalk to see the lights and enjoyed a beautiful white Christmas!
Since we were pretty much snowed with a whooping 13+ inches, we played in the snow. Matthew and David (cousin) decided to make an igloo. How cool is that?!
We had a wonderful time, but missed Lindsey!!

"Date Night"

David and I went to the Rudy Theater in Selma to see the American Music Jubilee Christmas program. It was great to see such talent in North Carolina! We had a great time!!

Halloween

David and I decided to go to the Prom, from the 1980's for Halloween. I went shopping at the local Good Will and Salvation Army stores and found our fantastic outfits. My electric blue dress was a whopping $5 and David's mis-matched suit was less than $10. I piled on the make-up and teased my hair and David bought a mullet wig and we were set. We had such a good time with the trick-or-treaters! My parents came over to visit and they started laughing even before they came in (Mom saw us through the window).

I am sorry I did not post this right away but we have been quite busy. We had a fabulous honeymoon! Then I went with David on a business trip to Delaware. I shopped while he was in a meeting, what fun! Now it's back to reality, real life. And I could not be more thrilled. Reality, the real world as a married couple have been great! We are so happy!

Thank you all for everything you did for us!! We are so blessed.

Family Tradition

My parents bought a pair of baby moccasins on their honeymoon, so David and I thought it would be neat to buy something for our first-born. No, we are not announcing anything, we just wanted to continue the new family tradition. Aren't the booties cute as a button?
The other picture is from our last dinner on our honeymoon. I have mixed feelings about going home: Excited about my new house/new life and sad to be leaving paradise. But I must say, we have had an amazing time with weather that could not have been better...75 (ish) and sunny!!

Last day in paradise

Today David and I went on a Zodiac boat ride that was fun and educational. We saw several dolphins and a Bald Eagle's nest on our adventure. We were told the nest was estimated to weigh 600 to 700 pounds. I did not realize Bald Eagle's mate for life and the same couple come back to the same nest year after year. How sweet! A baby Bald Eagle will grow to be 11 pounds in just 60 days. WOW!

Our cute room...

..in St. Augustine.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

St. Augustine Waterfront

David and I are now in St. Augustine, Florida. We are staying at a fabulous bed and breakfast! For breakfast we order whatever we want and they deliver it either in the courtyard, the gazebo or the dining room. They will even deliver it to us in bed. We decided on the courtyard delivery so we can watch the boats, just a stone's throw away. This is "Josh" the horse. We forgot his name, so we named him "Josh."

Charleston, SC

This is where we stayed in Charleston, it is called the Vendue Inn. What a great place it was! The decor was cute as a button. The service was wonderful and the breakfast was fantastic. David and I had mini Belgian waffles with a strawberry sauce. What a fabulous experience! So romantic : )

Plantation ..?...

This was a plantation we stopped visited, but we forgot the name...what a lasting impression it made : ) hee, hee, hee
The picture of us on the porch was taken with the camera's timer. I had to start the timer then run up the stairs and sit on the rocking chair. I barely made it!!

Look at that talent!

My brother, along with my cousins, decorated our car. When we asked who had done it, no one fessed up to it. It was actually done very tastefully : ) Thanks guys!

Our first...

dinner together as a married couple. How sweet.

Our rings

We arrived at the beach today and I thought I would snap a few pictures of our rings, all 3 of them together. This is my favorite.

Headed out

David and me just before we left for our honeymoon. You can see the guys of the family had fun decorating the car. Yes, that is a ball and chain you see behind me. They also wrote "just married" on the back, too cute. We have had several people wave and beep their horn because of it.

Rewind a day...

David and I now have a chance to tell you all about our "Big Day." We had worried about the weather, but it turned out to be the PERFECT day for a wedding. It had rained for days before the wedding, even while setting up the chairs on Friday. It even rained Sunday, but Saturday was beautiful. Everything went very well, to say the least. All the little details came out just as I had envisioned them. We have to say a super-big thank you to those of you who helped put all of those details in place. It could not have been done without you. Thank you to the wedding party for being there for us and standing there with us. We are very blessed.

The ceremony felt so quick for me, but David on the other had thought it was not that quick. There were a few moments that we will always look back upon and have a good laugh. The gnats were a little bothersome at times (they could have been worse). They seemed to have liked poor Pastor Dan, who kept his composure very well. I had a gnat that was on my cheek approaching my eye and I tried to blow it away myself then David attempted to do the same. We got a little chuckle out of that. We said our vows without too many tears. David struggled a little with placing the ring on my finger.

The reception was great! So many people came up to us and said how unique everything was, from the location to the decorations, etc. That was so good to hear. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as David and I.

I will try to keep you updated with pictures and such as I have time. Love you all!

Honeymoon time!

We can smell the ocean. We are headed SOUTH! No reservations, just going where the road takes us.

We want to thank everyone for your hard work. The wedding was exactly how we planned! We love you!

Attire for wedding..

David and his groomsmen are wearing white collared shirts with ties and a vest. They will not be wearing suit jackets.

As for the ladies...whatever makes you feel beautiful : )

We want it to be a fun wedding! We know it will be.
I am testing out the mobile blogger.

Need a laugh?

I thought I would share my adventure for today. I actually have not even had the chance to share this with my family or David today. Here goes...
I went to the ladies room at work today and locked the door as always. I am sure you know where this is going...YES I got locked in the bathroom for about 15 minutes. Brie: I know you would have totally flipped out! I turned the door knob to leave the bathroom and the door unlocked it just didn't open. I tried again and again, but it was still jammed or something. So, I started knocking on the door and thankfully the guys I work with were just around the corner. They heard me rattling the door knob and knocking so they came to see what was going on. Everyone at work was then standing outside the door trying to figure out how to get me out. In order for me to hear what was going on I had to turn the light off because the exhaust fan automatically comes on with the light. A credit card was cut in a hook-like shape and passed under the door. Yay, I was freed!! Not too much of an adventure, but it was a funny way to start the day! Needless to say, we are replacing that door knob.

Hats...

are welcome! David will be sporting an awesome hat at the reception, so feel free to join him! And Owen, the ring bearer, will be wearing the cutest hat during the ceremony. Actually Owen makes it the cutest hat ever!

Monday, September 13, 2010

For your information...

I have needed to tell everyone a few tid-bits of information...

Please take note that the ceremony and reception are both outside (weather permitting) so please wear the appropriate shoes. You may want to think about bringing a change of shoes (ex. flip-flops) to be more comfortable at the reception.

David and I are planning to have breakfast at the hotel with anyone who wants to join us. We want to take advantage of our family and friends being in town!

I am sure there will be more updates...so keep an eye on the blog.

There are only 19 days until our BIG day and we are so excited! The pastor sent us our vows today...one word...goosebumps : )

23 days...

WOW! I cannot believe we only have 23 days, almost 22 at this late hour, before the BIG day! We have received so many "will attend" responses, much more than I ever expected! Currently we have 106 people (that we know of) coming to the wedding. Unfortunately, we have received a few "will not attend" responses and we are sad they will not be able to make it. You will be greatly missed. I am going to try this new mobile blogging thing the day of the wedding...I will have to try it out before that day, of course. That way those who are celebrating from home will get to see all that is going on. Let's hope it works!

At this point things are getting a bit stressful, but I'm trying to keep things in perspective. All that matters is that I am marrying a wonderful man. David helps with the stress by making me laugh. We balance each other out very well.

I have to mention my Mom...I could not have done any of this without her. She has been working ALL summer on my wedding and I cannot thank her enough. Actually, I asked her how I was ever going to repay her and she replied simply with, "your first born." : )

I am truly blessed.

Only 34 days

Yes, it's been too long since I have added anything to our blog. Sorry!

I cannot believe it, only 34 days!! Everyday we are able to check something off our "to-do list" but it seems like we are always adding to this list. I must admit I am getting a little stressed about everything coming together and getting done. All that really matters is that David and I will be married at the end of the day. And we will be surrounded by friends and family. I cannot wait!!!
Here are two little stories from today. These things are what I need to focus on to get me through the next 33 days.
*in church this morning I had tears in my eyes just thinking about walking down the isle and the look on David's face
*David was in the dressing room at Macy's when a certain song we will be playing at the wedding came on...he ran out with his shirt half buttoned asking if I heard the song! : ) he always makes me laugh!!

Princess for a Day

My maid of honor, Mili, planned a Spa Day Bridal Shower for me. We missed having those who could not make it. It ended up being just the two of us enjoying a little pampering before we both start a new chapter in our lives. Last Tuesday night I arrived in Wilmington and we went to one of my favorite restaurants, K38 (they have the best salsa ever). Wednesday we slept in a little and went to Port City Java for a blueberry muffin (yummy). Then we went back to her place to get ready for our spa appointment at Harbor Club Day Spa, grabbed a quick lunch and off to the spa. I received my first-ever facial. It was amazing!! I would recommend anyone and everyone, female and male, to get one. It is a very relaxing experience and it makes you feel rejuvenated. We had a wonderful time catching up on all the details of the wedding and her upcoming adventure. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful friend. What a blessing she is to me.

Vacation

Our family visit this year was amazing, it's always amazing! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. They all loved David and are so happy for us!! David loved everyone, as well. He says quite often, "I love my new family." So cute!! While we were up there the girls of my family threw a surprise shower for me. I had no idea and yes, there were tears! It was so sweet of them to do that for me. Thank you to all of you!! I love you and miss you already!! We hope to see all of you in October. Only 72 more days...ahhhhhh!!!!!! : )

Doctor Appointment / Vacation

My family, David and I are all headed to upstate New York for a family visit on Thursday. We could not be happier because we all are in need of a vacation. Around here it's been nothing but wedding/bathroom renovation/wedding/bathroom renovation...you get the idea! I cannot take any credit on the bathroom renovations (completely gutted, I might add). I merely helped Mom pick out the new things that will go in it : )

I will definitely be putting my life here on hold until we get back. I went to the doctor today and was told I needed a CT scan to make sure I did not have any stones in my kidneys or gallbladder. I have the scan on Wednesday of next week. The doctor said I shouldn't worry, he just wanted to be sure! Let's all pray I don't have any stones!!! And no worries on vacation!!!

By the way, only 82 more days!!!

Great pics

The bridal portraits went very well!!! We started out at David's house where Matthew's '35 Ford car is parked (I hope I got the right year!) Then we went on to Fishing Creek Flower Farm where Daphne O'Brien had picked flowers for my bouquet that was absolutely gorgeous!! The pictures should be available for viewing in a week or so. I promise I will post the link as soon as possible. A big thanks to Michael Rogers and his wife Robbie, for a great photo shoot! You all did a fantastic job. Thanks for giving me a sneak peek of a few pictures!! I cannot wait to see them all. Another big thanks to my aunt Brenda and cousin Lindsey...they were wonderful in helping me with so many things throughout the day, including taking a video of parts of the day! That was so neat to see!! And a big thanks to Sara for doing a great job on my make up and touch ups : ) and Lindsey Beasley for doing a great job with my hair!! And last but not least...my Mom for just being the greatest Mom ever. Love you all.

Bridal Portraits

are today!! Hair is done, make up is next, then on to the "photo shoot." I am nervous, excited and every other emotion imaginable! David is also anxious, too cute! I think it is secretly driving him crazy to wait to see the dress. Not too much longer!

It's going to be so much fun! Pray for no rain. We actually need rain, but if it could just hold off for a few hours that would be wonderful. I will post the link to the proofs as soon as I get it. I am SO excited to see how they turn out!

Wonderful day

Mom and I had an absolutely wonderful day today. We went to Raleigh to search for a dress for her. She found one that she loves!! Yay!! It looks amazing on her. It's a tailored, just below the knee dress that has a mixture of pink, dark pink and orange. I , too, found a dress. David wanted me to find a dress to wear when we leave the reception : ) something that was more comfortable. Well, boy did I find a cute and comfortable one today!! I LOVE it. Then, as if that was not enough, I picked up my wedding dress. It was a very productive day and we are exhausted! I am certain that I am forgetting something... oh well. Good night.

Gabriella's Dress

Here is a picture of Gabriella's dress for the wedding. My Mom is going to attach a fuchsia (purple/dark pink) ribbon or sash of some kind over the white band at the waist. This will make it look a little more like a fall dress. I think she will be adorable!

Hair Trial Pictures

I told you guys I would post a few pictures from my hair trial for my upcoming bridal portraits. I really wanted something simple, not too fussy! I asked several people for their opinion on what I should do and everyone suggested to wear it like I normally do. Obviously it looks much better than what I do on a daily basis and it will look better for longer!! Mom just snapped a few pictures in the front yard...

Our New Bedroom

Oh, I am just SO excited about our new master bedroom!!! David painted (99% and 1% me) and my Mom made the window treatments. They are made out of burlap : ) Some might think that is odd, actually David and my Mom were unsure about it in the beginning. But for only $5 a yard, it was a very cost-conscious idea for fabric, especially with the ceilings being 10 feet and having a double window, each window being 44" wide. The project ended up costing less than $200! And I think it turned out fabulous!! It looks very natural, like linen. We still have to finish the bedding, but you get the idea!

No hair pictures today

Yesterday I had to cancel my hair appointments because I had and still have a stomach bug!! Yuck!! I am a little better today, thankfully. I have rescheduled my appointments for tomorrow, so I should be able to post a few pictures in the afternoon.

Hair Trial

Tomorrow I get a hair cut and highlight, then I have my hair trial! I am so excited to see what my hair will look like with the veil. I am planning on taking pictures so I can post them on the blog. Lately I have not been too good about updating everyone. There is SO much to do, it feels as if there are not enough hours in the day to do everything. But, I know everything will turn out just fine!!

David said the other day that he was so excited for our trip to NY! We are all super excited to have a vacation! Trust me...you all (my NY family) will LOVE him. I know Ree already gave him 2 thumbs up : ) See you all in a month.

116 days...

...and counting. I cannot believe we have less than 4 months until the wedding. Everyone was right, time does fly by.

At this point we are gathering songs for the reception, looking for the perfect paper to make our own programs and searching high and low for vests for the guys. There is more we are doing, but that's the main things right now. To add to our "to-do" list, we are having a yard sale on June 19th. We are going through box after box of his stuff and my stuff to get rid of duplicates or just unwanted items. It will be great to add to the wedding savings account.

Last weekend we had a slight plumbing problem in the kitchen, but we are thankful we did not have to call in a professional. David was able to fix it in an afternoon and Matthew helped with replacing the cabinet floor. All done!

We are back to our workout routine, thank goodness, we have taken almost a month off!! Not sure why, just busy I guess.

I hope you all are doing well. Thanks for checking in!

Sunday, May 23, 2010

Yay!!

The dress fit wonderfully! The only thing the alterations lady did was take in the slip just a little to help keep the dress from sliding down. The dress itself did not have to be taken in at all but it had to be hemmed and pinned for the bustle. Oh, it's going to be so awesome!! I cannot wait to wear it!!!

Saturday, May 22, 2010

Let's try this again

Mom and I are off to Raleigh for my 2nd dress fitting. I hope everything works out better this time!! I am so excited!

Quick note: David and I (99% David) have finished the master bedroom painting. It looks awesome! I will post a few pics when I get a spare moment : ) Those "spare" moments are few and far between lately, but we are having fun planning the wedding and making his house into our home.

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Opposites attract...

That's true, especially today. We registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond tonight and we definitely have different tastes!! When we got home, after a partly quiet ride (usually we are talking non-stop), we deleted a few things. I thought it was going to be fun just walking around and scanning things we needed, but little did we know there would be so many choices and differing opinions : ) No worries! Everything turned out like it was supposed to. We are going to keep looking for everyday china that would work well with Davids' grandmother's fine china (which actually inspired the color scheme for the kitchen).

Dress is almost here!

I have to say that my husband-to-be came to my rescue this week. He called David's Bridal on Tuesday after he saw how stressed out I was about having to wait for another dress to arrive. He was very nice, but got his point across. He asked the manager to do everything she could to get the dress by the end of the month. She called today and said it should be here by May 20th. WOW!!! He's awesome and I love him very much!!

Dress update

On Tuesday I logged onto my computer at home and found the "other" dress again. I thought I should look into it this time because of the situation with the other dress, a plan B of sorts. I found out it was a Fall 2010 collection dress that the stores did not even have yet. So, I called a few stores and one store said they will have it in about a month, then to order it would take 12 weeks and I hate to even mention the price.....................$1890.
Here is the link, if you wanted to see:
http://weddings.theknot.com/Wedding-Dresses/65904/detailview.aspx?id=65904&type=5&Gown_Type=50+Best+Fall+2010

WOW! For some people that would be nothing, but for me that's a fortune!! Oh well. I just hope the dress I ordered will come in sooner rather than later! Both David and my Mom said to pray about it. I will have the dress I am supposed to have!

Flower Farm

Good news from the weekend. My Mom, David and I went to a flower farm on Saturday. They are going to provide the flowers for our wedding, including the reception table centerpieces and our bouquets.

Oh, before I forget, something new we decided on...I am going to use part of my Mom's sleeve from her wedding dress for around my bouquet!!! It's a lace piece with pearl buttons. I am so excited to be able to use something from her dress on my wedding day. And I am going to carry the same Bible she carried on her wedding day! And use the cake knife they used, as well.

I wanted a "hand-picked from Grandma's garden" look for our flowers and this place was perfect for that!! We had a great time walking around the farm! It's going to be a great location for my bridal portraits, too!! I cannot wait! Check it out http://www.fishingcreekflowers.com/

Too Big

My dress was 2 sizes too big!!! The day I picked out my dress they measured me and ordered a size 4 (there was talk of ordering a 6, no way!!). Well, I tried it on yesterday and it was falling off of me. They decided to order a smaller size and now I have to wait another 12 weeks for my dress (hopefully it will come in quicker like the first one did). How can you measure me and be off 2 dress sizes? Whatever?! But everything happens for a reason, right?! Before it was not available in a size 0 because it was just a preview dress, but it has sold well since I first ordered it and now it is available in more sizes. But now that pushes back bridal portraits. Can you imagine bridal portraits in August??? Ahhhhh!!!! And they mentioned a $25 rush fee for alterations...um, I don't think so!!! I don't want to be rude, but we will not be paying any rush fees for their mistake! We figured they knew what they were doing when the alterations lady came out to measure me! Oh well, I am trying not to stress out about it, I just hope it comes in sooner rather than later!

It's HERE!!!

My beautiful dress is HERE!!!!!!! I just got an email this morning!!!! Mom and I are going for the fitting on Monday. AHHHHHH, I am super excited, can you tell? I cannot wait to try it on again : ) It's a shame that the most beautiful dress you will ever wear, you will only wear it one day. What a bummer!! But I guess it's really more than one day when you count the bridal portraits (which might be 2 days of shooting). My head is spinning right now : ) By the way, I have had no thoughts of the "other" dress in a long while. No doubts!!!

Everyday I wake up and feel so blessed. I am so thankful that God has blessed us!

150 days...

and counting!! We cannot believe we only have 150 days and we will be married. Yay, yay, yay!!!!!!!

Our House, Our Dog

This is David's house, soon to be "our" house and the same goes for his dog, Max : ) We still have lots of things we want to do with the house, but for 100 years old, I guess it's not too bad. The previous owner must have thought she needed to post the house numbers 3 times for some logical reason??? I am still trying to figure out why. Anyway, like I said, we still have so many things to do. You can see our new flower beds next to the steps. They add so much color to the front of the house.

5 months

We have only 5 months to go. WOW time flies when you are planning a wedding!!! I cannot wait to be Mrs. David Aloisio : )

Myrtle Grove

David, my Mom and I met with Joe at Myrle Grove today. He is so wonderful. Everything we asked, he agreed to...from putting a settee outside to hanging a swing in the huge pecan tree!!! The ceremony will be under that huge pecan tree : ) it's just beautiful. We are super excited about having our wedding there. It's a PERFECT place for the type of wedding we want. He even let us look through his barn to pick out things to use for the wedding. And the food, it's going to be amazing!

Confession : )

I have a confession to make. I feel like I am cheating on my dress!!! Ha, ha. My homepage on my computer at home is www.theknot.com . I was just going to check my email the other day when I saw a picture of a dress that I liked. I thought to myself, "don't do it, do not click on the link!!" But I couldn't resist. It was a combination of the dress I bought and the runner-up. The thing is...I have not been able to find it again. That's probably a good thing! I absolutely love the dress I picked out, but I would like to just take a peek at the other one again. I am sure that when my dress comes in and I try it on again (in a size that will be more flattering than the size 8 I tried on) then I will be happy as a clam and will not think about another dress again. I thought you all might need a little laugh today!

More Additions...

We have a flower girl and ring bearer!!! My cousin Gabriella (turning 3 in August) is our flower girl and Brie's son Owen (turning 3 in July) is our ring bearer!!! There is no doubt that it will be an eventful ceremony, but I would not have it any other way. Having them be a part of our day is super exciting!!!

Color update!!

I am thinking that the turquoise color in the necklace needs to be the accent color for the decorations at the wedding ceremony and reception rather than a dress color. My girls can look for a dress that is a darker teal-like color, which would be more appropriate for fall.

Bridesmaid update

Maid of Honor: Mili (friend from high school)
Bridesmaids: Lindsey (cousin) and Brie (friend from college)

Lindsey found her dress this weekend! When she saw the necklace she said she did not want the orange/coral color...but guess what? She found an awesome coral-colored dress and it looks fabulous on her! I cannot wait to see it in person.

Moving right along...

Yesterday David and I went to Raleigh to pick out our wedding bands! We should have taken pictures of them, so we could show everyone. Oopsie-daisy!!

When we got home David, my Mom and I worked in David's (our) front yard. Our house in on the main street in Nashville. We wanted to plant flowers and hang ferns for the Blooming Festival, which includes a parade, on May 8th. I think it looks great!!

We have also been painting, well David has done most of the painting! He is such a hard worker!! He spent the entire day Saturday painting and mowing the grass, among other things. He's just wonderful.

There are so many things we want to do before the wedding, but we are not going to kill ourselves (we have our list of priorities). We want to show everyone our home, but it will be okay if everything does not get accomplished.

Invitations

Our invitations have been selected. But I am choosing not to post a link to the website because some things need to be a surprise! Sorry!!! We think they reflect the outdoor theme but also have an elegant flare to them! We are super excited and we both love them!! You all will just have to wait until you open your mailbox : )

Necklace

...colors of the wedding! The picture turned out a little bright, but I think you get the idea.

Dress Pictures

I have decided to remove my dress pictures because I want David to be able to look at our blog. So, if you have not seen the dress and would like me to email you a picture, just let me know. I really want David to be a part of everything...except seeing the dress. It's hilarious...my Mom has even told him he cannot see the dress. He knows that he cannot. Actually he does not want to see it until that day...October 2nd. : )

Updates...

As prompted by my Aunt, who will go un-named : ) I am adding a few more details about our wedding plans. Feel free to prompt me again anytime!! I am sorry I do not update you all more often!!

Colors

I am at work now, but when I get home I will post a picture of my necklace that is going to be our color palate. It has one bead of each of these colors: turquoise, pomegranate, brown, royal blue, lime green and fuchsia. I wanted to be respectful of the season, but not have only the expected Fall colors like brown, orange and green.

Flowers/Reception Tables

As for the flowers...we are going to try to do all the reception table arrangements ourselves. Mom has ordered Dahlia bulbs to plant in her yard and David's yard. They will still be in bloom in October. So, we will cut them the night before because we are trying not to plan too many things for the day of the wedding. I think I want lots of baby's breath for the tables, too.

For the bouquets I think I will have them done by a local florist, keeping in mind that we are using Dahlia's for the reception tables. I want something different!!

I am collecting old glass bottles that will be on the tables with either one large flower or a few smaller flowers in them. And yes, I am planning on looking through the barrels of glass jars at Grammy's house this summer!! Can't wait!!

Bridesmaids Dresses
I would like my bridesmaids to find something they will definitely wear again. I do not want them to wear the same color!! Like the video, in one of my earlier posts, I like the mis-matched, but coordinating dress colors and styles! They all worked together, but were not matchy-matchy.

When I get home I will add more.
Thanks for checking in!!

My Dream Ring

Today was the first sunny day I could get outside to take a few pictures of my ring.

Decisions, decisions!!!

Well, David and I have been thinking October 9th would be our wedding day, which would work out so wonderful for our out-of-town guests with October 11th being Columbus Day (holiday for kids in school). But we may have to consider another Saturday in October because a lot of places are already booked. People have told us (and Mom) about great places and we have just disregarded them as possibilities, but I think we need to reconsider our original tentative date and look at some of these great places! I will keep you posted!

The Dress

I had an appointment today at 12:00 at David's Bridal. Mom and I checked in and walked around for a few minutes and then I saw a dress on a mannequin. I just had to try it on even though I said I did not want a strapless dress. I found one or two I liked and tried those on. Then came the one from the mannequin...as soon as I tried it on I fell in love and started eliminating other dresses I had tried on. I wanted to be sure this dress was the "one" so I tried on a couple more and found the one with the spaghetti straps. But I had to try on the strapless one more time, just to be sure. The sales associate asked if I wanted to try on a veil and I told her I never really thought I wanted a veil. But I agreed to try one. As soon as she put the veil on me I started crying. I had always heard people say that you will know when it's the one...boy they were right!!! I just knew!! So, a mere 2 hours after arriving, I had my dream dress! I love everything about it: the style, the fabric (great texture, not so silky/shiney) and the pockets!!

My Inspiration

A friend found this video on the internet and I absolutely fell in love with it...David loves it, too.

There are a few things I would change to make it more "us" but I love the vintage and outdoor vibe!!!

The search begins..

Well, Mom and I are headed to Raleigh today to start the search for THE DRESS. My friend from high school, Kelly, is meeting us there. I am so excited!!!
